Why is Clash of Clans Still So Popular in 2017?

Clash of Clans is one of the most played Android games today. There’s no doubt about it. According to a GameSpot article, 100 million people play the game every single day. Being launched in 2012, it’s still hot and popular.

In this little chitchat article, I’m going to tell why I think Clash of Clans is still so popular and how Supercell have managed to stay so consistent in growing. If you’re one of the hardcore Clash of Clans fans, you will know, the game receives a lot of updates.

There are several reasons behind the success of Supercell’s most play game – Clash of Clans. One of the biggest reasons is regular updates. Unlike many game developers, Supercell spends lots of time creating new updates which always attracted new players and also excite the existing players.

This is one of the most addictive games in the world. In fact, it’s like a daily drug which is needed, no matter what. Once you start playing it, you will be lost.

Regular Updates and New Additions

You might think why this game was so successful. At first, it’s important to note that Supercell spent a lot on the game’s development. It was not a game just made for fun by some kid, the game was under proper development and targeted most youngsters.

Clash of Clans also receives regular updates to keep the game bug-free and is supported for most devices today. Almost any cheap Android phone can run this game, so almost anyone can enjoy the game.

This is what allowed Supercell to grow big. Supercell not only updates existing things but also brings in new troops and defenses which need new strategies to play the game.

This is a never-ending cycle if you’re once addicted to the game. You won’t be able to live without it if you become one of those hardcore fans. In fact, I’ve played this game very little that too a few years ago.

Clash of Clans’ Fan Base

The Supercell fanbase is massive and actively spends over $500,000 every single day on add-ons and in-game contents. Now, if that doesn’t sound insane, I don’t know what does.

There are also much fan-made fun stuff like the Clash of Clans mod which provides unlimited gems on a private server. It’s not a hack and is totally fine with Supercell.

All these things have grown Supercell massively in the last 2-3 years. People mind interesting ways to keep the game fun even though you hate to wait for buildings to be built and more.

Supercell also managed to widen into the international championships which again is a great way of growing. Not every success comes on the first try, Supercell had made almost 14 games, and only four are known today.

Conclusion

In this post, I just brought up the topic of how successful the game really is. In my opinion, it’s a great game, managed by a great team of developers who are actively tweaking stuff to keep the game fun for everyone.

Of course, there are updates which disappoint some players but come on, that’s the fun of gaming – facing new challenges here and there.

If you found this post interesting, don’t hesitate to share it with your friends who love playing Clash of Clans as much as we do. 😉
